“Augmented Make-up” is a tool that amplifies and manipulates sounds that are provoked by the application of make-up on skin. In its tool set, there are five different brushes and puffs customized with special microphones to capture the subtle noises of face embellishment. Each make-up tool has a different behavior for sound making. Augmented Make-up is applied individually in private sessions and can only be heard by the perfomer and the subject. As a therapy session where skin itself is the source of sound textures and spatialities, it creates an alternative level of listening through the touch.
