Performing miracles . . .
BRASS band enthusiasts described it as the best yet after listening to musicians from far and wide perform in the town at the weekend.
“They perfomed miracles in that heat,” said one admiring spctator.
More than three hundred people filled Thornton Square as Brighouse Lions staged their 12th Brass Band March and Hymn Tune competition and took their seats to watch the 26 bands perform while enjoying the sunshine.
Visitors from all parts of the UK attended the event plus Heleen and Johann Talman from Friesland in the North of Holland, who played with local favourites Clifton and Lightcliffe.
The festival started on Saturday morning with the Brighouse Youth Solo Championships in Bailiff Bridge where there was a very friendly atmosphere which helped to encourage the young people to show their talents.
The event was sponsored by Kershaw’s Garden Centre of Brighouse and Brigitte Matthews of Holmfirth.
