I worked in the high-end audio business for a long time, but I must admit that most of the brands sold at Audio Arts were unfamiliar to me. I like the adventurous approach of Schwartz and his research of companies that deserve wider recognition. In high-end audio the best products can come from the smallest of businesses, construction without compromising speed. Listening to the shop, I was impressed by the musicality of sounds, and the build quality of the equipment was state of the art.
There is a definite presence in the European brands represented in the shop, and a sprinkling of thin components other lands.There are more vacuum tubes to solid state electronics, and more than the CD turntables. Schwartz sells only two-channel gear, you'll have to look elsewhere for home theater systems or the latest iPod docks. Most speakers audio arts are above average in efficiency, so they can make a big sound with just a few watts.
