when i play, i cant seem to hit the high notes, and i was wondering if its the crappy horn i have because i have this old amati ever since 5th grade till now(9th grade). and i also play on a 7c.
What model horn do you play? You can increase your range by playing scales up to your highest comfortable note. Hold that note and then play up by half steps. This also works for lower notes if done in reverse.

Practicing trumpet made me worse Recently, I star _Aol age
Recently, I started taking practicing a lot more seriously. Before I started practicing more, I could hit up to an A flat (Above the staff). For about two weeks, Ive been practicing for a half hour-an hour every day; one day Ill practice an hour, the next day I would practice for only half an hour, and then the next day I would practice for an hour again. So I did this for two weeks. Today, I tried playing and I realized that I able only hit up to an F, (on the top line of the staff). When I think about it, Ive realized that my range has slowly gotten worse over the range of two weeks.
I always have practiced, just not as much. I used to practice every other day, for half an hour. I dont see how practicing has actually made my range worse, but its extremely frustrating considering that I wanted to use the summer to my advantage, and instead, things have only gotten worse.
Does anyone know whats happening? How able practice actually make me worse?
