High School Musical's Corbin Bleu Will Get Bloody In Nurse 3D
For a while there it was good enough to be one of the children of High School Musical. All these fresh faces and in their teens, each of them absurdly rich and ridiculously famous, each of them talented enough to go to great things. But next to the central pair of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, fame and fortune has not exactly followed the gang - and unless you count his supporting role in Sucker Punch as a career boost from huge, I do not know what really is Hudgens.Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman and Corbin Bleu have all worked here and there, but it's not easy to get jobs as adults when the world you knew the song and dance girl.
So Blue, for its part, will change his personality completely.
Talking Head: Design and the Musical Tablet, iPad and Beyond
Normally, you hear my voice in words on the screen, so here instead – courtesy the talented video crews at Toronto’s NXNE – is me communicating on camera, prior to a talk on tablets, music, and design.
The conversation is one I find myself having with a lot of people these days offline, away from the Web. It goes something like this: “sure, the iPad has been a big thing, and you can obviously do music with it, but what does that mean? Is it going to stay around? Does this change what we’re doing?”
For my talk, rather than examine a device like Apple’s iPad as an isolated phenomenon, I chose to look at the bigger picture, and consider what it can mean for design. Those design lessons could be applied anywhere. I’ll try to finally turn that presentation into an article next week, but as a teaser, here’s the video interview I did at NXNE. And perhaps that’ll start some conversation (or even disagreement) prior to the article. Discuss....
Blaine's Dana Cohenour refocuses her musical talents to entertain ...
BLAINE - Dana Cohenour traded singing in smoky clubs for entertaining bright-eyed children, then took time out to begin to rear her own child.
Now the award-winning singer, a Semiahmoo resident, is back part-time on the national trail, but she still volunteers with children's music and entertainment programs at Blaine Library.
Cohenour won 18 national awards from 1994 to 2007 and has sold thousands of CDs featuring her original children's music. She will return from three summer gigs in Chicago to entertain at a special end-of-summer celebration Aug. 24 at the library.
Cohenour moved to Whatcom County from New York City with her husband, Jason, the CEO of Sierra Wireless in British Columbia, in 2002, soon after they adopted son Jack, now 9.
Question: Dana, how did your early career develop?
Answer: My major at the University of Northern Colorado emphasized musical theater. After I graduated, I sang at supper clubs in Florida and performed in musicals in Denver, including one musical with my dream role, Maria in "The Sound of Music." Then I went to perform in New York City in 1983 and did a lot of summer stock and off-Broadway work.
