OK, right from the start, for this price you don't expect an Amati in yer mailbox, yes? That being said; this thing comes SOOO close to being a very nice instrument, and if you decide that the price and rather beautiful and intrigueing design make it a "what the hell, why not?" purchase, a few... -
Stop second-guessing yourself and buy it.
I was looking for a violin that would be conducive to playing live in a rock/metal band. Naturally, an electric made sense, it's a simple way to get the volume and power without having to fool around with microphones or attaching pick-ups. But I never imagined that I would find one so...

A complete restoration
Ryan Kutschied has done his share of cookie-cutter projects.
Tackling the restoration of a big old barn and silo that are nearly 100 years old is a lot more challenging — and a lot more fun, even if it means devoting three weeks just to cleaning the ceiling.
Kutschied and his Rivertown Construction Co. of Red Wing are in charge of converting the dilapidated 1915 barn at the Tower View estate into the Anderson Center Performing Arts Loft.
The $1.35 million project, which has been under way since last fall, should be completed by June 2012.
The barn will look like new from the outside, but the interior is being restored to its historic appearance — with modern improvements that are necessary to make the space usable under the state building code.
“A step in will be a step back nearly 100 years,” Anderson Center Director Robert Hedin said. Based on what has been accomplished so far, he added, “You can really get a sense now of what it’s going to be.
