Tiffany Violin 2005 Eastman School Recital
I am a beginner violinist and I want to get a good Violin... I found the Eastman Model 80 violin. I hear that the Eastman violins are handmade. I like how it looks and all so I was wondering if it has a good sound and is it a good instrument... I played an Eastman violin for two years. I found it to be decent and satisfying for my purposes back then.
I also played a Seraphina (I'm not sure of the spelling) and it was a very nice violin as well.

Five Things You Need to Know This Weekend
The summer is flying by, so now is the time to make plans for the weekend, and Patch has a few ideas.
1. Kirtan Chanting With Drumming: for something different, there will be a Kirtan Chanting with Drumming class offered Friday 8/5. The class will be from 7:00-8:30pm and the cost if $15.00/adult. There will be instruments for you to play, as you send your good vibrations out into the universe. All are welcome.
2. 8th annual Peace Arts Fair Sunday. I n memory of Peace and community activist Leigh Davis. the show features local artists, poets, musicians, speakers: Hazy Jane, The Tee Wee, Nick Conte, Spook Handy, The Solidarity Singers, Mike Kirk, Halima the Henna Lady, The Striped Bananas, Larry Hamm (Peoples Organization for Progress), Better Blue (John Kennedy of Steeel Woool), Rob Romano, You're Beat! It's from Noon to 7:00pm at Eastman Center Plaza Clock Park in Cranford.
Eastman Strings Young Master Violin - The Violin Company
Just been working on the first of the Eastman Strings Young Master violins. Really nice instrument with very clever antiquing, you’d be hard pressed to know whether this really was a new instrument or one made a 100 or so years ago. It’s a handmade instrument and it really shows in the quality of the construction, it’s also very light, which is usually a sign of a good violin.
We’ve fitted Dominant strings for now and after a couple of hours of playing they have settled down and the balance from string to string has improved. Dominants do tend to have a metallic edge when they are first fitted but once they’ve been played for a while they become much more mellow and rounded. I’m quite impressed with this violin and it was no chore to give it a good play in. This is going to be a good violin for those players who can’t quite justify spending on an Eastman Strings Master Violin, ideal for the serious player in an amateur orchestra....
