Great Case
I got this case for my son. His case after a few years was really getting beat up. He has had it about a month and so far its been great. Good defined space for the instrument and extra pockets on the outside for reeds/etc. Nice and lightweight with all the protection. -

Check the keys for bends/breaks.
Personally, I'd buy a new mouthpiece, and also take the clari in for new pads/corks before she even starts with it.
Yes, pads and corks go bad (dry up) with age.
