The IEP meeting went about as expected. There are details over at the sff.net hangouts, if anyone's interested. Mostly, we agreed that she's a very smart little girl who has a serious processing problem that is going to cause no end of problems as she progresses through the public education arena. Her future educational goals were also discussed. She wants to be a paleontologist. This means grad school and lots of it. They felt she would probably have no problems with the academic side of those plans, but the social and emotional sides might be a seriously hairy bear and we'll talk about it more as she gets closer to graduation. I saw the internal meds doc this week. He's a good fellow. The only major sticking point was a sudden drastic drop in potassium. This was caused, likely, by the high blood pressure meds. Which have been changed and a potassium supplement added for a week to see if we can get it back up into the normal range....
