Does anyone have any maintenance tips for an electric guitar. I have Fender Strat

Keep it clean, wipe it down after each use. Don't let dust build up in the bridge as it will hold moisture and cause rust. Treat it like any other expensive posses ion. Don't get drunk and hit people with it, or use it as a canoe paddle or shoot arrows off the strings.

The Replacements of Tim

Perfected the alchemical mix and released an album that retained the urgency of their earlier work but appealed to a broader range of emotions among their fans.

With Tim, Sire Records welcomed The Replacements into a family of artists that were familiar names in the underground punk and alternative rock scene at the time. The Talking Heads as well as the Ramones were signed to the label. Sire was also hosting new talent: Madonna, for example, was making her name close to the time Tim when came out.

Sire Records was no stranger to the rapid rise of pop superstars. Despite the fame of other signees, however, Tim reached a modest #183 on the Billboard Top 200 upon its release. The lackluster public reaction did not dampen the band’s underground appeal, which was significant after Let it Be. The album’s longevity and staying power is still recognized.

Nice vid, but I have to agree that cutting all strings is not the best way to do it. Some pro guitar techs may do it like that but that doesnt mean its the correct way. Back in 2000 I bougth a 7string with buzz problems, the Pro guitar tech took three days to just raise the action leaving my guitar as a backup because it played so bad, years later I learned how to setup my guitars so I lowered the action and setup the thing my self! now it sounds awesome. Dont mimic the Pros bad habits.

@gerby90 note that I said string replacement. a lot of the people who look these videos up might not know any better and leave their instrument without strings. i know that fretboard cleaning requires complete removal of the strings. as for the action and intonation, again, the title of your video states “for begginers” in my opinion that type of change shouldn’t be done by begginers.

@punkrockedlastnight Excuse me but one simply HAS to remove all the strings in order to clean the fretboard effectively. “Dramatically damaging” your instrument is something that simply will not happen just because you remove the strings. Yes if you leave a guitar too long (days) it’ll warp your neck a bit, but no permanent damage will be done. Next time try to think before you start screaming murder and spreading false information. Cheers....

Rocksmith Review from GamePro

GamePro Score User Score Be First To Review This Game

Can a video game make you a rock star? The Guitar Hero and Rock Band games always do a good job of faking it. Sure, they use plastic instruments, but when I'm up in front of my friends shredding out the solo to "More Than a Feeling," there's nothing in my mind separating me from the imaginary crowd in front of me. But the finger calisthenics of playing on Expert don't translate into anything remotely resembling a real world skill. Rock Band 3 included a Pro Guitar mode that let you use a real guitar, but it required a prohibitively special and expensive one. Enter Rocksmith -- it cuts out the rest of the band, lets you use any guitar with an output jack, and focuses solely on teaching you to play.

I'm not a complete music novice; I studied music education in college, I've got a strong grounding in theory and fundamentals, and I've tooled around with guitars (and ukuleles) for several years. I still suck, but I can at least plunk out chords and read music. No matter what, though, I love structure and lessons; I can spend hours practicing and trying to perfect one small section of a song, and Rocksmith provides the kind of direct feedback and muscle memory lessons that the gamer in me can't resist.
