I don't remember Freak a zoid being so long, but hey it's gives off energy and then the next... -

In Black Feminist Thought, Patricia Hill Collins explores the words and ideas of Black feminist intellectuals as well as those African-American women outside academe. In the tenth anniversary edition of this award-winning work, Patricia Hill Collins expands the basic arguments of the first edition by adding several important new themes. A new discussion of heterosexism as a system of power, an expanded treatment of images of Black womanhood, U.S. Black feminism's connections to Black Diasporic feminisms, and more attention to the importance of social class and nationalism all appear in the new edition. I can assure you that this is a totally new creature. The music is inspired by artists 30 and 40 blues and electric riffs infused with some more modern and supported with the gruff whiskey soaked vocals C-leb itself.

Add July 23, 2011 to the ever-expanding list of posthumously relevant dates one should remember while discussing music as we know it. On this day, the often misunderstood, misguided, Amy Winehouse, unfortunately met her fate, as she was found lifeless in her Camden, England flat. The drug addled ingénue passes in a media driven time period, where every move is captured and over-analyzed and similar to actress Brittany Murphy, it seems that many people saw this death coming. Further toxicology reports must be conducted, but it appears the death is related to a long-going battle with pulmonary ailment emphysema, caused from years of heavy smoking and drug use.
As mentioned this sad news is far from shocking. The singer defined train wreck, as her tabloid misadventures piled to the point of comic absurdity. Yet the outcome remains tragic—Winehouse, a deeply troubled addict, spearheaded a 50’s era music revitalization in soul and R&B, spawned plenty of half-wits who coat-tailed her success and seemed destined for much more than her credentials exhibit. She was found lifeless on her bed by security. Coincidentally, no drugs were found on the premises.
